We did it!

It took us 2.5 years, but we read The Book of Mormon as a family.

The Monte L. Bean Museum

The Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum at BYU has been closed for a couple years as it has been renovated. It finally opened this month, so we went to check it out. It is a much more inviting place than it used to be and feels more like a real museum. The kids liked it and it was free, which is always nice.

My kids take crazy pictures these days...

Cub Scout Day Camp

Mason got to go to his first cub scout day camp. He loved it! He got to build a boat and race it, did a little sword fighting, shot a BB gun, paddled on a boat and did some archery. Pretty awesome!

Hiking the Y

We did it! The kids have wanted to hike to the Y again for awhile now. We took advantage of the cooler weather today and did it. Last time, Cassidy couldn't make it past 20 steps up the mountain, so I carried her on my back all the way up. Today she was determined to do it herself. And she did it! She hiked up and down all on her own! Pretty amazing! Even when her toes were hurting her on the way down, she would not let me carry her. She was such a trooper! And of course, Mason and Ellie worked hard getting up to the top too!

Cassidy let me carry her to the car after she crossed the finish point.

Swim Team

Mason and Ellie are doing swim team this year. They are swimming for the Provo Piranhas. They have been practicing for 2 weeks and had their first meet today. When they started swimming, they could manage to get across the pool swimming freestyle, but lifting their heads forward to breathe, and struggling some. They have improved so much since then! They both are breathing to the side and not stopping at all across the pool. Their backstroke used to be a few strokes with their legs sinking to the bottom, and then stopping because they couldn't go any farther. Now, they swim the entire lap, heads back, legs kicking on top of the water and their arms straight. It is amazing! Their coach Daniel is awesome and he swam on the BYU swim team. They were a little nervous to swim in the meet today, but they did it and were so excited about what they accomplished! And of course, I'm so proud of them too!

Cassidy is an AMAZING supporter! She deserves an award for the hours she spends watching them practice and race. She's not far away from being on the team herself. She's a pretty awesome swimmer already!

Bridal Veil Falls

We love walking up to Bridal Veil Falls. We took our friends, Kade and Sadie, and had fun feeding the fish and walking in the water.
