What a fun time we just had! We spent last week in Arizona visiting Grandma Nancy, Papa Steve and the Rudd family. We went swimming, played with Cooper, went to a horse stable and saw a horse actually swim. Mason, Dave, Papa and Jackson went to a couple Mariner's spring training games and Mason got some autographs and a picture next to James Paxton. We spent the night at our cousins house and played for hours. It was so much fun!

Eric
Uncle Eric had a work conference in Salt Lake, so he spent a few days hanging out with us. We did a lot! We walked through the Provo City Center Temple and it was beautiful. Eric took us to see Star Wars: the force awakens (again). We went bowling at BYU, where I bowled a 215 which earned me a free tshirt and my name at #7 for the highest scores in February. We were also able to go visit Grandma Curtis. It was great to see her. We loved having Eric here. Wish he could've stayed longer.

Pierced Ears
Ellie got her ears pierced today. She was pretty excited, but nervous at the same time! She said it only hurt for a second, then her ears felt hot, then it hurt a little more. Even though I could see genuine fear in her eyes before it happened, she's glad she did it. Cassidy liked watching and is looking forward to turning 8 so it can be her turn. Mason was freaked out and didn't understand why anyone would purposefully put holes in your own body.

Spelling bee
Mason won the school spelling bee today! It was pretty awesome. He has been studying hard and it definitely paid off. He competed against the top two 4-6th graders from each class at his school. I wasn't expecting him to win because he was only a 4th grader, but he did awesome! The second place finisher was Mason's good friend from 4th grade as well. It was fun to watch him participate. He was listening to the other kids spell the words and if they misspelled it, I could see him shake his head slightly indicating they were wrong. He was covering his face to hide his smile knowing another kid was out. Of all the words that the other kids misspelled, I knew Mason knew how to correctly spell them. He prepared so hard for this. He was definitely the best speller up there. He won correctly spelling the word "appositive" (whatever that means). As soon as she told him the word, I knew he would get it. I'm so excited for him!

Aunt Megan!
We were lucky to have Aunt Megan come visit with us for a few days. It was so great to have her here! We went bowling and walked around BYU, ate ice cream at the creamery, did some science projects, stayed up too late talking every night and enjoyed some Cafe Rio. We miss her already and can't wait for her next visit!
