Arizona

Here are some pictures of our fun in Arizona. I didn't take out my camera enough to catch all the great times. But we had a lot of them!

State Meet

Ellie and Cassidy went to the Utah State Short Course Swim Championship. Ellie moved up to the 11-12 girls in September and the qualifying times for state dropped significantly. This is the age group where girls really start to grow and some girls Ellie races against are 5 feet 8 inches! She's still only 5 feet. I wasn't expecting her to make the state time. Well, she made it in the 50 fly and the 100 fly. Her 100 Fly time got her into finals where she came in 20th place. We were pretty excited about that! Her fly keeps getting more and more pretty.

There is no 7-8 qualifying time for state. There is only 10 & under. Cassidy is 8 and made the state time in the 100 back. She is one of only two 8 year olds to make that event and probably not very many others in the rest of the meet. She only needed to drop 2 seconds to get the qualifying time, but she dropped 4! This also gave her a UV Rays team record for 8 year olds. She beat the record by 1 full second. The girl who held this record is still on the team and 16 years old. This record was set the year Cassidy was born. Cassidy didn't get a best time, but she had the experience of swimming at the state meet. She also got to swim on 2 relays. An exciting time for the girls!

Soccer tournament in Saint George

Another fun weekend in St George playing soccer and hanging out. Cassidy’s team won one game and lost another and because of snow on the fields, her last game was a shootout with penalty kicks. Unfortunately, they lost that one and so they didn’t get to go to the championship
Game. Oh well! We still had a good time.

BYU men’s basketball

One of Mason’s Christmas gifts from Grammy and Grampy was a BYU men’s basketball game. Grampy and Mason had a good time and it was even better because they won.

BYU Women’s Basketball

Grampy took us to the BYU Women’s basketball game against Portland. It was fun! The kids were getting pretty into it and by the end of the game, their voices were scratchy. We went home after and watched the same game  that we recorded at home. We got on tv a lot! We could even hear cassidy’s shrill shriek when Portland was taking their free throws.

The Wizard of Oz

 Grammy and Grampy took us to see The Wizard of Oz at the Hale Center Theater. Lexie Walker was Dorothy. It was so cool! They really did a good job and we all enjoyed it.
