I did it.

I ran my first half marathon (13.1 miles)! It was the Salt Lake City half marathon and it was an awesome experience. After I let my body rest a little, I think I will consider running another one someday soon.

Me and my cousin, Marian.

Mason was so excited that I earned a medal.
The kids had to try it on.
For some reason Cassidy didn't want any of it touching her.

Ellie's Dance Recital

Ellie did a great job in her recital tonight! She pays such close attention to getting every move right. She definitely was the one in her class who knew the routine the best. We all had a wonderful time watching her. When Ellie came out on stage, it was pretty quiet and very loudly Cassidy yells, "I see Ya-Ya!" After the show, Ellie said that she heard Cassidy say that (we're hoping it makes it onto the professional video that was being taken). It's so fun to watch her perform and do her best. She is so cute up there!

When we were leaving, Cassidy insisted on jumping all the way to the car. If you look closely, you will see how high she gets. I am amazed at her ability to jump at only 2 years old!

Happy Easter!

Dyeing the eggs...

This is Ellie's favorite part of Easter.
From the day I buy the dye kit, she asks me over
and over if it's time to dye the eggs yet.

The hunt has begun...

Ellie and Cassidy are such cute sisters. They love doing everything together.
It's good to have a big brother take care of you!

Ready for church...

I love this one!

Uncle Cameron, Aunt Brittany, Cade, Connor and Brittany's sister, Bonny, came over for dinner and an outside egg hunt. We strayed from tradition and Dave made Korean food for dinner. It was AMAZING!

The Zoo

We have not been to the zoo in a REALLY long time. I think the last time we went Ellie was under 1 year old. I've been wanting to go back and think about it often, but it just never seems to happen. Today was a beautiful day, so when the thought came to me that we should go to the zoo...we went! I'm not one to do big outings spur of the moment, but I definitely wanted to be outside today. It was so fun! The kids loved it.

Ellie does not like animals to be anywhere near her. If a dog is walking across the street, she will come to my side until it passes. Even when we go to the pet store there is hesitation when approaching the animals in cages. I was hoping she'd enjoy the zoo and she did. She was a little hesitant at first, but once she realized the animals couldn't get anywhere near her, she relaxed and loved looking at them.

This was Cassidy's first trip to the zoo and she learned something very important...animals are stinky. For every animal that we saw, she either said, "stinky" "PU" or plugged her nose and made a weird face. She did enjoy seeing all the animals. She said her favorite was the baby elephant.

As usual, Mason enjoyed himself. He doesn't really have any problems with animals. He loves them all.
Checking out the rhinos.

Mason pretending to be a rhino.

Mason just read a book about turtles, so he had a special connection with these guys.

Tigers are so amazing to see in real life! They are HUGE!

The giraffes!

Going for a train ride.

Cassidy insisted that she sit on the seat by herself. I tried to hold her hand through the ride, but she didn't want that either. She wanted to do it all by herself (that made me a little nervous...the train goes fast!).

Every zoo trip must end with playing with the wet, ball, spinny, statue thing.

California

We had a fun time visiting Grammy Trish and Grampy Mike in California. It's always so nice to spend time in their home and to have lots of fun playing with them.

Ellie and Mason helped Grammy Trish make cake pops.
They loved squishing the cake and frosting together!

Cassidy did have fun playing at the park,
even though her face may make it seem otherwise.

Ellie and Cassidy in the back of Grampy's truck.

Mason playing ping pong.

Great Grandma and Grandpa Fotheringham got these cool toys called
"Bendaroos." We had fun making things with them.

Grammy and Cassidy

We went to Pixieland. We wondered what the kid would think of it now that they have experienced Disneyland. They still loved it.

Mason (and Grampy's) first time on the roller coaster.

We had such a fun time with Grammy and Grampy. We can't wait to see them again!
