Mason's baseball team (the Dodgers) didn't make it to the state tournament. However, he got drafted onto the team that did. Each team who heads to the tournament gets to draft a supplemental player from the other teams. The Rangers chose Mason as the first pick to come play with them. We were pretty excited about this opportunity. He pitched and played shortstop and did really well. He tagged out at least 3 runners trying to steal second while at shortstop and twice he tagged out a runner stealing home while he pitched. He caught a pop up and would have had a double play if the third baseman could've held onto the ball. He struck out a lot of batters and he even hit a triple. They won one game and lost two in the tournament. It was a lot of fun.
