Today is Ellie's birthday.
I can't believe she's already 2!
We had a fun day celebrating!
Ellie got to celebrate her birthday a day early with her aunts, uncles, cousins & grandparents.
Her cousins, Chloe & Claire, taught her how to put on her new chapstick.

This kitchen had way too many parts to put together,
but thanks to Dad, Ellie was playing with it after only a couple of hours!
Riding her new bike
Independence!
So, I was more ambitious this year and decided to make an exciting birthday cake.
Ellie's only criteria was that it was pink. This is the first time I used fondant...I think
it turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself!
A few weeks ago, Ellie told me that she wanted "Everyone to sing "happy birthday" to Ellie."
She had the song sung to her at least 5 times. I think she was satisfied.

She is so beautiful, Lisa! And wow, what an amazing cake! Somebody told me a good idea the other day. You can flatten out starburst candies and use them instead of fondant. Sounds cool, eh? Glad Ellie had a great day.

She's so cute! And so grown up! That cake looks great, good for you!
Happy b-day little Ellie! You know whats funny is that I was wanting to make her an apron for her b-day! I didn't ever get the stuff to do it though. The cake you made turned out great! I'm very impressed...so did it taste as good as it looked?
Happy Birthday, Ellie! She is such a cutie. That cake was awesome! If I ever get that ambitious, I may need to give you a call for some pointers.
Yay! Happy Birthday Ellie! The cake looks awesome Lisa. Was it hard to make? She looks so cute on her bike and in her kitchen.
Happy Birthday Ellie! That cake was great, you'll have to teach me your skills. Lilly was very impressed.
